Yesterday I had the chance to speak to over 1000 students at my high school. I do it every period of the day without taking a break. 7 hours straight. I love doing it. I get to see all kinds of students who will help form our future. Yesterdays speech was about “Haters, Waiters, and Do-ers”. I spoke to the students about how they will run into these three types of students. Haters are those who hate on everything you do. If you are doing well, Haters hate it. Haters are negative individuals who are looking for misery for company. They bring nothing but opinions and rants to the table. Waiters are people who are “gonna”. “I’m gonna do this or that.” They are waiting for someone to do something for them or tell them to do something or for a market to change that they think is out of their control. The waiters will never do anything as long as they wait. Many waiters have a fear of failing or worrying how they look to others. It will cause them to wait on and goal or task they want to do.
